Certificate of Naturalization as

a Subject of the British Empire.

I, ARTHUR WILLIAM HILL, of No.1 Goverment quarter,

Wong Nei Chong Road, Victoria in the Colony of Hong Kong,

Head Bailiff, do solemnly and sincerely declare and say as

follows :-

1. I am a Householder in Victoria aforesaid and am a

natural born British Subject and am able to and do testify

to the facts hereinafter set forth from my own personal

knowledge thereof.

2. I personally know anu am well acquainted with Walter

Guunrie Erwin who resides when not absent from Hong Kong in

the course of his occupation as Ships' officer at No.30 praya

East Victoria aforesaid, My knowledge of and acquaintance

with the said Walter Guthrie Erwin extenus over a period of

at least six years.

3. There is now promced and shown to me the document

constituting the memorial (respecting his Application for a

Certificate of Naturalization as a Subject of the Briti su

Empire) of the said Walter Gutarie Erwin bearing date the

22nd

day of December 1922 and marked with the

letter "A". From my knowledge and acquaintance with the

said Walter Gutarie Erwin I am able to and do say that to

the best of my knowle uge information and belief the state-

ments contained in sual memorial are true, except wuring
